How to read it like someone who has done this before.
Limited is usually good news
A weekly self-promo thread means the community has decided launches are welcome, on its terms. Those threads have a smaller audience but a friendlier one. Not allowed means not allowed. Do not test it.
Read the rule, not the verdict
The verdict is a summary. The rule is the truth. "No self-promotion" in one sub means no links ever; in another it means not more than one post in ten. Open the rules before you post.
One sub at a time
The same post in eight subs on the same morning reads as spam in seven of them. Fit each one to its room, and space them out.
Where it falls short
Honest limits.
- Rules are read from the community’s own rules page, not from private mod policy. A sub can still remove you for reasons it never wrote down.
- Nothing posts without your approval. Drafts wait in your queue and go out from your own account, inside cooldowns.
- Karma and account-age floors are often unwritten. If your account is new, expect friction the rules do not mention.

How current are the rules?
Rules are read from Reddit when a subreddit is analysed and refreshed regularly. The composer shows the published requirements at the moment you write.
Does this work for Hacker News?
For research, yes: Reddibee reads recent Show HN threads in your category. Drafting and posting are Reddit only.
How many requests is a launch?
Finding communities, reading rules and recent posts takes a few requests. Saving drafts and posting take none.
